Caliche Development Partners II

Caliche Development Partners II (“Caliche II”) is a Houston, Texas-based company focused on the acquisition, development, construction, ownership, and operation of subsurface natural gas and industrial gas, storage assets, as well as carbon sequestration in North America. Caliche II owns and operates the Golden Triangle Storage, Inc. (“GTS”) facility and is expected to finalize the acquisition of Central Valley Gas Storage, LLC (“CVGS”) facility in the second half of 2023, subject to state regulatory approvals. GTS and CVGS are located in Jefferson County, Texas and Colusa County, California, respectively.  These businesses target two regions that OIC expects will experience increasing demand for storage to support variable power loads, natural gas liquefaction, and high penetrations of renewable resources.  The Caliche II management team previously partnered with OIC when they developed and sold the Coastal Caverns site on the historic Spindletop salt dome.

Caliche currently owns a 53-acre storage facility on the Spindletop salt dome near Beaumont, Texas with 59 million barrels of permitted cavern storage space. Caliche operates 5.0 million barrels of ethylene storage under a long term contract and is building a new 3.0 million barrel cavern for industrial gas storage under a long term storage agreement.

Evergreen Recycling (“Evergreen”), formerly known as CarbonLITE, is a “bottle-to-bottle” recycler and one of the world’s largest producers of food-grade recycled plastic polyethylene terephthalate (“PET”) pellets, operating three recycling plants in Clyde, OH, Riverside, CA, and Albany, NY. Evergreen specializes in processing used plastic bottles into food-grade pellets that can be used to manufacture new beverage containers and products, including clothing and food containers, and replaces the use of virgin PET. Evergreen’s recycling techniques help to lower carbon emissions and reduce waste, while providing a responsible, cost-effective, and high-quality solution to repurposing consumer packaging. Every ton of plastic recycled saves 16 barrels of oil, over 5,700 kWh of energy, and 30 cubic yards of plastic containers in landfill space. Less than a third of the six billion pounds of plastic used for drink bottles and food containers are recovered by U.S. recycling programs, but 10%+ of bottles used in the US are integrated into Evergreen’s recycling plants, where their lifecycle is prolonged.
