OIC Forum on Infrastructure Innovation

OCT 16 — OCT 17, 2024

As you know, OIC takes great pride in our investments and their role in shaping the future of innovative infrastructure. Equally we value being part of a community of industry leaders focused on furthering environmental and social innovation in infrastructure.

Last fall, we enjoyed hosting you at the OIC Forum on Infrastructure Innovation in Newport, Rhode Island, share views and commentary on the future of several key developments in the infra sector. You’ll find enclosed a commemorative book that we created in order to share our memories of that gathering.

This year, we’re pleased to invite you to join us for our OIC Forum on Infrastructure Innovation 2024, to be held in Atlanta, Georgia on October 16th and 17th.

This event is designed to bring together a small group of our friends to showcase three compelling OIC investments and provide opportunities to engage with industry leaders driving infrastructure innovation.

On Wednesday the 16th, we’ll visit two of OIC’s partnerships near Atlanta. First, we’ll tour Suniva, manufacturer of domestically produced solar cells. Then, we’ll head to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the home of the Atlanta Falcons, to see an installation of solar panels designed by our partner Radiance. We’ll end the day with dinner and a discussion led by experts in the infrastructure space.

On Thursday, October 17th, we’ll provide attendees with the option to visit Arglass’ state-of-the-art glass production facility in Valdosta, Georgia. Getting to Arglass is a bit of a drive, but we’re confident it’s worth the trip.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Georgia Nicholas (Georgia@OIC.com) or Lauren Keefe (Lauren@OIC.com).

DAY 1: SUNIVA & RADIANCE

Headquartered in Norcross, Georgia (metropolitan Atlanta), Suniva is the largest U.S. manufacturer of high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cells. In July 2023, OIC closed a $110 million loan commitment to Suniva to fund the restart and expansion of the Suniva solar cell production facility. At full capacity, the facility is expected to produce approximately 1GW of solar cells per year. The company has filled its current production capacity with customer contracts until mid-2027 (including with another OIC investment partnership, Heliene).

Radiance Solar is a provider of engineering, procurement, construction, operations & maintenance, and installation services to developers and owners of solar projects.

Radiance Solar was contracted by Georgia Power, The Georgia World Congress Center and the Atlanta Falcons to design, engineer and build a 617 kW solar canopy for one of the parking areas at the Mercedes Benz Stadium. Using Quest Renewables’ QuadPod canopy racking, this canopy, located in the marshalling yard north of the stadium, plays a crucial role in offsetting the facility's energy usage. As the largest of the three solar arrays built for the stadium, it contributes significantly to the stadium's sustainability efforts. Owned and managed by Georgia Power on behalf of the stadium, this array exemplifies a commitment to renewable energy and operational efficiency.

In addition to its primary function of generating solar power, the array serves a dual purpose throughout the year. During the school year, it is used as a parking lot for school buses, accommodating students on field trips to the nearby aquarium. On Falcons home game days, it offers premium parking options for fans. When not in use for these specific events, the array provides overflow parking for the adjacent marshalling yard, demonstrating its versatile and multi-functional design.

DAY 2: ARGLASS

Arglass is an innovative and sustainable glass container producer based in Valdosta, Georgia. Arglass was founded in 2019 to address the under investment in North American glass production and is the first new glass container plant built in the U.S. in 15+ years. The company focuses on the needs of food, beverage and spirits end markets by seeking to offer more customized and flexible product offerings, increased efficiency, and unmatched sustainability of operations. Arglass has contracted a blue-chip customer base of leaders in the food, beverage and spirits space.

In February 2024, OIC invested $82.5 million to support Arglass’ expansion of its existing operations in Valdosta via the construction of a second glass production line. This expansion of Arglass’ state-of-the-art production facility will support its environmentally innovate processes and flexible production model to better server go-forward customer dynamics, which OIC believes gives the Company a competitive advantage over other market participants.
